Substance Abuse Prevention and Education Programs - Jalon Institute a community-based program was established to provide educational and supportive activities for children, families and others in need living in the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California. During the next two years our goals are:  1) To help lower the risk of future substance abuse and other high-risk activities dramatically for adults women and men:  2) To Offer substance education programs for adults that address such areas as addiction ,anger management, domestic communication, nutrition, self -esteem,and civility:  3)To provide substance education through education programs through classes, seminars and workshops at various times and locations in the community: 4)To provide mentoring and community resources information, e.g.,referals to health agencies and adult rehabilitation programs, to help improve physical ,emotional and spiritual health. Although we are still in the planning phase of developing our activites,we will for example, provide classes for adults that address issues of domestic violence and substance abuse prevention.

Workshop facilitators and speakers will be selected based on their experiences, skills, and demonstrated commitment to helping at-risk adults. Initially, we will begin collecting resources information and identifying community ,and government programs that might want to collaborate with us to offer presentations. All of the activities will be available at no charge to the public. We may change nominal fees at or below market rate in the future to help cover cost of hosting such activities. We will promote our activities generally through word-of-mouth, and in the future as our resources grow we hope to do more formal advertising. The presentation and other activities will be presented by our Board and community volunteers typically at various locations that we either lease or have donated. Currently ,we do not own or lease office space. Board members, volunteers, or other supporters will not be allowed to live in our offices or facility.

We feel that all the activities further our exempt purpose of providing charitable community services to the general public, and may be particularly helpful to adults and families, who are at risk of domestic violence, homelessness, and substance abuse . We are not organizing or operating for the benefit of private interest, to influence legislation, and to participate in political campaigns
